We want to increase confidence in Slough town centre by creating a place that is uniquely Slough and puts community at the heart of the town. We want the town centre to reflect local culture and diversity and create a place for people to be proud of. We are taking a flexible and smartly sustainable approach to the design of Slough Central to meet the changing demands of the town centre. Our development principles include:

An economic boost – encouraging footfall from both locals and visitors, offering opportunities to retain the spending power of those working and living in the town centre.
New homes – delivering high-quality homes in a convenient, central location - contributing to meeting Slough’s identified housing needs.
Growth in the right place – high-density, mixed-use development in the most accessible part of Slough, encouraging more sustainable modes of travel and reducing the need to travel by car.
Economic recovery from Covid-19 – direct post-pandemic investment into the heart of Slough, creating positive economic impacts and employment opportunities.
Employment and skills – employment opportunities in construction and other fields, supporting a range of skill levels.
Flexibility – a flexible approach to the development proposals and a planning permission that can respond to future changing needs.
British Land are an award-winning property investor and developer who are leading the Slough Central proposals, acting as Development and Asset Manager.
Squire & Partners are responsible for preparing the masterplan for Slough Central. The practice has an international reputation, spanning four decades, for architecture that is informed by the history and culture of its location.
Gillespies are experienced landscape and urban designers and planners, responsible for designing the public spaces and supporting landscape within the masterplan.
Gardiner and Theobald are respected independent construction and property consultants and are providing project management services for Slough Central.
Kanda are specialists in working with community organisations, residents and businesses to ensure they have the opportunity to provide early and meaningful feedback on the Slough Central proposals.
Iceni Projects are providing advice on the planning application process and are facilitating meetings with officers at Slough Borough Council.
WSP are supporting the project by providing advice on matters relating to highways, transport, car parking and servicing.
Turley are specialist heritage and townscape consultants. Their specialist advice will help to shape the masterplan and consider its relationship with heritage assets, such as St Ethelbert’s Church.
